and Lieutenants Enochs and Batca
with two companies of the Twenty-
fifth infantry while reconnoitring
yesterday attacked the insurgent
flips. Daring the fight the insurg-
ts took from prison two men of the
Ninth and three men of the Twelfth
and forced them to kneel in front of
the firing party. The first volley kill-
ed two of them and the rest wore bo-
loea receiving faial wounds. Two
were rescued while atill living.

the ThlrtyNinth volunteers with 15
men drove 200 insurgents from their
trenches yesterday killing 25 of the
enemy. The Americano were surroun
ded for hours but escaped injury.

Bayles by Thomas took place at the
Bnyles farm near MoRiuloy P. O.
Bayles was the son-in-law of Thomas
having married the thirteen year old
