day located his wife in this city. Mrs.
Lcgare arrived in Perry more than

a suit (or divorce from her husband on
the grounds of extreme eruflty and
Incompatibility of temper. She al-
leges that she was man led in New
Yorit City where her parents now
live In 1801 and two children
were born to them and that her hub-

A peculiar Incident occurred In New
York on Sunday last. While a police-
man of that city was trying to see what
was going on in a "suspected" saloon
ho soiled his hands; he noticed a sink
In tho anteroom of tho saloon and
when ho turned on tho faucet ho was
surprised to find that ho was washing
his hands in beer. The keeper of tho
saloon was of courso arrosted.
Diphtheria of tho Skin.
Diphtheria of tho skin a very raro
disease has been cured by tho uso of
autltoxin in a little 2-year-old Berlin
girl recently. Sho had boon badly
scalded with boiling water and as tho
skin was hoallng she was klssod by her
mother on the wounded spot. Tho moth-
er had diphtheria and thus communi-
cated It to the baby's skin; the throat
was not affected. .

attitude of opposition to tariff legisla-

month of March went out with a roar
that was heard and felt nil over tho
Northwest Specials indicate that
tho weather all over tho Stato was
similar to that experienced In this im-
mediate vicinity which Was most pe-
culiar. With a htcanlly and rapidly
dropping thermometer thoro was in
tho earlier part of tho day a heavy
wet snow melting almost as fast as it
full. This was fo. lowed by sleet and
hard little pellets of suow driven be-
fore a howling gale while heavy
thunder und lightning accompanied
the blizzard.
All street car traffic was suspended
at West Superior on account of the
blizzard in t.iat city. Drifts six feet
high are reported. At Dasscl Minn.
twelve Inches of snow is on tho ground
and the storm still ruges. Tho snmo

Rapids where also there have been
thunder nnd lightning and tho street
cars were blockaded all day.
At St. Cloud the snow is now two
feet deep on the level. All traffic and
wire service is crippled. Business was
suspended during the day and the
schools were closed in tho afternoon.

worst snow storm of the winter Is in
progress here and throughout tho
State. Rain foil for several hours
which turned to snow followed by a
blizzard. The storm Is raging with
increased violence.

stage in Randolph county and on Sat-

tion will in turn send delogates to the
Sodalla convention. Yesterday there
was a joint debate in the Huntsvillo
opera house between William J. Bry-
an of Nebraska and Congressman U.
S. nail of this district.
An immenso cowd filled tho build-
ing delegations coming from Glasgow
Salisbury Keytesvllle Fayette Car-
rolltou Chilllcothe Brunswick and
other places. Each orator had an
hour and a half and as usual in such
cases opinions differed as to which of
the speakors gained tho advantage.

Sleppy of the county court County
Clerk Robert M. Nnsh stands accused
of collecting and fulling to turn into

Keeno and Sleppy said they would

Army headquarters yesterday a cable-
gram was received fiom London an-
nouncing tho denth of the infant child
of the Booth-Tuckers. The child
which was but six weeks old was
taken ill after tho embarkation of its
parents for this country. Immediately
after receipt of the news of the Booth-
Tuelcer child's death there came to
the Salvation Army headquarters
word that the daughter of Mrs. Hooth-
Hellberg in charge of the Indian prov-
ince had died.
