l'rltata llettrtlve Atcenry.
C'iicaoo Nov. 10. The inquest over
the body of Frank While who was
shot while riding in a buggy led to
startling developments. The discov-
eries made may result most seriously
to not less than six members of the
Ilcrry Detective ager.ey Including the
superintendent and possibly a seventh
mini who has not been identified.
The circumstances surrounding the
cam go to show that the buggy in
which the men were riding was
brought to a standstill when the trag-
edy occurred nnd that at least three
detectives who were detailed to nsslst
in the arrest of riurcnce White made
an eftort to crowd about the vehicle
and exploded one or more chambers of
their revolvers in the direction of the
Innocent man. who was killed.
White mn' shot almost to pieces by
the detectives two bullets having
pierced hit brain two went through
his chest and he was shot through the
spine from the rear. All the bullets
wero of hirire caliber nnd llred at close
range. The men now under arrest
comprise the entire force of the lterry
agency with the exception of one
man and the police arc chasing him.
The agency has for several months
past had charge of what are known
here as the "porcli-cllinbhig" cases
the residences of several wealthy resi-
dents of the South side having been
entered by a gang which it Is alleged
was led by Clarence White a brother
of the murdered man and well known
to the police The killing of Frank
was the result of an attempt to arrest
Clarence. The detectives began firing
without a word of warning.
