LARGE ADDITION TO THEIR CHURCH
PARSONAGE IS IMPROVED-
$500 FROM BAZAAR
Father Urban has plans under way
for a large addition to the Catholic
church and expect to have the work
started within the next two months.
When the addition is completed the
building will be in the form of a cross.
"We decided not to attempt to build
a new church at this time" said Fath-
er Urban ''but will make the old one
answer present requirements and
when we do build the structure erct-
ed will be a credit to Chickasha."
Extensive improvements to the am-
In a statement furnished the Ex-
press J. W. Henderson who was dis-
charged from the police force last
week complains because no charges
were filed against him. He says:
"The record shows that in two
months and five days I arrested 35
persons from whom fines amounting
to ?363.70 were collected and yet I
am discharged .and no charge has been
filed against me. I make this state-
ment so that the public may know
whether I have made a good officer or
not. Mr. Goodwin never said to me
that I was not making a good officer."
When Mayor Bridges -was inter-
viewed in regard to Henderson's ease
he said: "We had plenty of charges
against him a dozen perhaps of va
rious kinds and HenJerson was told
of the charges. I had repeatedly call
ed his attention to the mattevs com-
plained of. Everyone of the charges
could be substantiated by investiga-
tion." Chief Goodwin said he concurred
in all the mayor had to say in regard
to the matter.. "Mr. Henderson has
the record somewhat confused how-
ever in regard to his arrests" said
Mr. Goodwin. "He claims entire cre-
dits for all the raids and arrests in
which he participated. The record
shows that he made only fifteen ar
rests unassisted and the fines in these
cases amounted to $107.45. During
the month of December he made only
five arrests alone."

Esxeemed Friends and Patrons:
In effect our business of the
year just passing has shown remark-
able growth.
For every effect there must be
a cause. The cause in this case has
been our strong desire to supply the
people of this community with drugs
and medicines of a high class with
services of a distinctive character
and prices that allow of economy.
That we have succeeded in
making our store a success is a fact;
that you our patrons have helped
in this success is a most evident fact.
We take this method of thank-
ing you for your appreciation of our
efforts and for your strong support.
The coming year will find us
making even more strenuous efforts
in your behalf. Every department
in the store will be improved upon
where improvement is possible.
Every effort will be made to cater to
your comfort your health and your
purse.
Help us make the coming year
an even greater success than the
past.
Once more thanking you for
your support and patronage and
wishingyou all the joys and comforts

Over eight hundred of the strong-
est educators of the state vgere present
at the business session of the State
association in Tulsa Saturday morn
ing. Meeting was called to order by
President Cowart of Wilburton. When
the committee on resolutions brought
in its reports the interest was intense
and articles of this report were won
and lost by small majorities.
The article regarding the sale of
the school lands as presented by Supfc
Virgil Durham chairman of the com-
mittee was voted down and one fa-
voring the sale of the lands was sub-
stituted. Frof. Buchanan of the un-
iversity of Oklahoma "wrote the sub-
stitute. Slight revisions were road a
by Miss Maude Widaman of Anadar-
ko and Mr. Staley.
The article favoring a county high
school brought forth the next -warm
discussion. The committee's report
on this subject was finally adopted.
The report of the committee calling
for three state normals in the east
end of the state brought out the se-
cond really hard fight of the conven-
tion. Mr. Staley offered an amend-
ment calling for a second agricultural
college to be located in the south cen-
tral part of the state. The amend-
ment was greeted with applause and
no one opposed it on the floor. Supt.
Cameron voted for the amendment.
It was however k--t hy not iwe than
twenty votes. T!-?' Isfc-ness of th
