Annual Report.
The annual meeeting of the
Elgin Farmer Tele. Go. Sat-
urday afternoon was well attend-
ed and many things of interest
to the patrons and stockholders
discussed and explained. The
secretary's report showed the
company oat of debt and in good
condition.
Considerable discussion was
held relative to the stockholders
aad the renters paying the same
monthly rental some favoring
this and others not favoring it
which the officers explained be-
came necessary to meet compe-
tition and as they had paid of!
quite a little of the company's
indebtedness during lha -year

the company had bought a line
through to Apache a few months
ago which made free toll to A-

The Question of longer hours
of service on Sunday was brought
up and the officers reported in
reply that the Elgin system now
gives longer hours of service on
Sunday than Apache Fletcher
Cyril and Cement.
The secretary's report showed
188 patrons now against 95 one

equipment of the company while
last year three fourths of a mile
was added. On the last of March
this year the rentals amount to

ditures during the year were in-
cluded the following items:
20 miles new line at about
$22.50 per mile $445.00

10 new telephone boxes
installed at $12.50 each -.125. 00

Running expenses about
$55 per month 6G0.00
Total in above items 1805.00
This still leaves about $320 of
the expenses most of which
went to pay old bills of last year
over $100 of which went to one
firm in Elgin.

Big Event Coming.
An athletic contest will be held
in Elgin beginning 1:30 p. in. on
Saturduy April 10 1915.
The intellectual contest in
music oratory and childs story
telliiig will be held in the audi
torium Saturday night April 10th
beginning ai 8 p. in. Invitations
have been sent to the schools in
the N. E. District of the county
to come and bring their best ath-
letes Spelling contest will begin at
10 o'clock Saturday a. in. at
school house. Words taken from
same part of book as county con-
test for 8th year and below con-
test. The winners in this contest
will be sent to represent our
school at Lawton in May.
Tho business men offer the
following prizes for the winners.
This is the first track and field
meet ever held in Elgin therefore
we nre expecting success. Come
and bring your friends.

Orange Putney and D. E. Mc-

QUite a number of our citizens
responded to the call to clean up
around their premises last week
and leveral loads of old cans and
other articles were carted awny
front the publio gaze improving
the appearance of the town won
derfully. Now let every one get
a big box to throw the cans in
and not scatter them over town
again.
Quiet Election.
The town election passed off
quietly Tuesday as none of the
candidates had any opposition.
In all 18 votes were cast of which
Dr. L. H. Hilsmeyer. C. F.Bran-
don and C- E. Price each receiv-
ed 15; W. W. Brunskill and J.
Fitzgerald each received 14 and
H. F. Shirk 12.

A number of the little folks
enjoyed an easter hunt of eggs
Saturday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. C. F. Brandon who was
assisted by some of her relatives
in showing the youngsters a good
