trict as appointed Friday to the position of Associate Justice of the Supreme
Court of tlii State of Oklalmma to Mil the vacancy caused by the resignation
of Hon. Jesse J. Dunn.
In the appointment of Judge Loofbnurrow to this important and respnnsi

wise one and one which will meet with the hearty approval of the people tit
the entile State and with those of Northwest Oklahoma In particular Here
Judge Loofbnutrow has resided for twenty-live years and. starting at the bot-
tom he has climbed sturdily upward fcver enjoying the good will and henriy
assistance of his legion of friends who share with him his successes and who
feel that there is nothing too good or ''our" Judge.
Ho has served the people of this County and District both as bounty At-
torney and District Judge and in all his dealings he has been found tu be on
the square conscientious and capable His promotion to the honorable posi-
tion of' Associate Justice Is a well-deserved recognition of hit ability and
worth nnd ne are all proud of him and rejoice exceedingly that he has been
so honored ; yet who is there among us but feels a tinge of sorrow nhi U

Judge R II I.oofbnnrrnw received a hearty welcome when he returned
from Oklahoma City Tuesday night following his appointment as Associate
Justice of the Supreme Court
The Beaver Band and many prominent citizens met him nt tlio train nt
Forgan and escorted hint to Beaver where o public reception and banquet was
given in his honor at the court houe Thivondto ri'izensliip of the town and
many from the country were there. to greet him and the demonstration given
upon his appearance plainly revealed the high regard anl esteem in which
he is held.
The Beaver band furnished tome excellent and stirring music. W. T.
Qiiinn and W F. Muney delivered talks in which they voiced the sentiments
of the throng of ardent admirers nf the Judg- and dwelt upon hjs many virtue
particularly lit him to fill creditably the honorable position to which he has at-

To all of this Judge Loofbourrow responded in n frank heart-to-heart talk
In which he gracefully and graciously expressed his pleasure at the honor be-
stowed upon him and the tribute of respect paid him tiy his friends
Refreshments were served followed by an informal reception nod the even-
ing was most agreeably nnd pleasantly spent.

ca.no ppiprietor of the City Cafe buy-
ing out II 0 Raff who has had charge
of the same the past year. Mr. Rush
ha taken charge and will conduot the
establishment In a satisfactory man-
ner and givu his patrons the best of
service.
Frank llrook or Alfalfa county was
in Heaver this week He is here to
buy feed which he wilt ship back to
Alfalfa county to feed his stock He
reports that our crops are far ahead of
those of Alfalfa and that that county
will not produce near enough feed to
winter its stock Alfalfa wouuty is
known as one of the best crop produc-
ing counties in the state and yet her
people must come to Heaver county
this year for feed Is this not a boost
for old Heaver?

Mrs J W Mi'l'iml of Riverside
whose death was chronlchd in the

dent of Beaver county and one of the
most highly respected and well hcliw-
ed women of the county. .She resided
at the home place at Riverside for
tinny years where she raised up around
her a largo family of biys and girls and
was sparrd tnsen them all grow nnd
develop into useful men anil women
Later the old home whs sold and a new
nnd comfortable home was erected on
the farm of a sou where the family re-
sided and from whence her spirit took
Its flight. Vivo years ago her husband
John W. McCool passed away. Four
sons Roy Walt Grant and Stanley
and three daughters. Mrs C. E (Senile

In the denth of Mrs. McCool a good
unman has gone to her reward. She
was a blessing to her family and a val-

for those who were near and dear to
her anil for all whom she might render
a service of love and friendship.
That she will be greatly missed and
