to us that inasmuch as the west side
of Douglas Avonuo is tho principal
business thoroughfare since the east
sklo was wiped out by fire tha. now is
tho time to got busy nud fill in the
gaps In tho sidewalks which wore
ordered put in more than a year ago
by the City Council There Js no ex-
cuse fur these'watks being allowed to
remain out and we'd liko to see the
City Council exhibit ennugli backbone'1
to enforce their ordinances and com
pel tho property owners to put in the
walks. It is 'only fair to other pro-
perty owners who have had respect for
thu City Authorities and put in their
walks without protest that those wl;o
havo refused to do so now be com-
pelled to get busy. Lot's havo the
walks. Now is on excellent time to
put them in and it should be done.
