Republican Candidate for Governor Guth
rie Oklahoma
To tho Republican voters of Oklahoma
Since Inst March I hnvo been going
among the people of Oklahomo in sup-
port of my candidacy for tho Republi-
can nom'nntion for governor of this
state. In that time I hnvo encoun-
tered all tho vicissitudes of weather
and have addressed moro than 200
meetings of patriotic citizens In
lino with what I beliuvod was my duty
I have gone to most remote localities
whero ordinarily candidates do not
go because of tho hardships of travel
that I might ineot personally the men
and women upon whom all of us must
depend finally for tho perpetuity of
our government. I believe now as I
have always believed that tho studi-
ous industrious law-abiding farmer is
the man above all others upon whom
deponds tho stability of our state and
federal governments I have had it
in mind all the timo to make a cam-
paign that would help free this state
fiom tho grasp of as unscrupulous n
political machine as over undertook to
throttle freo speech and a fair ballot
in any state or city in this union.
I hao said that we should have low-
er taxes; that wo need "more business
and less polities" in handling tho pub-
lic affairs or this stuto. That the best
politics fir any party is to give tho
best government at the least possible
expense and not attempt to build up
a party machine by creating places to
reward men for party service regnrd-
lcss of the necessity thereof. Okla-
hoinn should never adopt the "yellow
dog" kind of party polities. We want
to adpt such policies as will induce
outside capital to como in and heJp
develop our great natural wealth and
convert it into commercial wealth
build railroads establish manufactures
to work up tho raw products; to de

Statement.
In announcing for tho office of
County Attorney I realize that most
all of the bad things to bo said of me
have already been said ; that all of my
faults and frailties have boon mado
public and are yet being kept alivo by
tho eager breath of those against mo
that my vices have been shouted aloud
from the house tops and I will have
no time to make any kind of a cam-
paign. My defects do not add one
qualification to my opponent nor do I
lay n -claim for your voto because of
any demerit of his. Because ho may
be vicious or corrupt affords you no
reason to support mo. Nono will ques-
tion iny.conipotency though some do
my integrity. I havo the ability and
if elected will protect tho best inter-
ests of tho people and tho COUNTY
ATTORNEY'S office will bo no expor-
imcntal station nor training school
I and 1 alone will bo the COUNTY
ATTORNEY without a debt of grati-
tude to pay or a political enemy to
get even with.
Very respectfully

Speaks Well for Beaver
Editor IlnnALU Beaver pkla.
On my lecture tour just ended for
July I met over threo thousand teach-
ers and addressed twenty Normal In-
stutcs and I think it u duty to tell
your people that Beuver county leads
almost all of them in progressive edu-
cational spirit and tho determination
to make tho best of everything in her
school work.
Although some of these counties
employ three hundred tedohers? in
only three did tho actual attendance
outnumber that of Beaver county and
in but one did I lind the close atten-
tion to methods mid tho eager desire
to learn tlio best plans of teaching
which marked the teachers in tho
Beaver County Institute.
In only one did I find a superintend-
ent so capable or an oillco so woll
equipped for aiding teachers and
school officers as in Beavor county
and 1 would compliment your people
on both these murks of progress.
I believe there is a greut future for
Beaver county and I confidently be-
lieve her people will take no buck ward

The credit of this great state must be
maintained and kept above par so that
capital will pour into Oklahoma there-
by reducing taxes and giving labor to
tho laboring man.
Wo must havo a non-partisan elec-
tion law 60 plain thnt overy elector in
tho State ran cast his ballot correctly
and have it counted just as ho placed
it in tho ballot box. Limiting the
right of sullrago by technical laws
passed for the purposo of confusing
tho voter and gaining party ndvantago
is un-American and destructive
of tho very foundation of
our republican form of govern-
ment. Let us gut back to simple
pluiii.old-fushiontd election laws tlutt
accord tho will of tho majority and
n.-t disfranchise loyal intelligent
liberty-loving citizens by technical
laws that may be construed to confuse
our best citizens.
I stand for policies thnt will main-
tain high prices for farm products
high wages for the laboring man and
every other employee. I believe in
hotter schools freo from political con-
trol. Loyalty to stato and nation
above partisanship.
I pledge all tho power of an exper-
ienced mind and the vigor of a well
preserved body to putting into uctual
practice ho work of an economical
business administration of the finan-
cial affairs of this state; to tho strict
enforcement of all laws devotion to
human liberty equality of rights and

For these reasons I am asking your
support at the primaries on August 2nd

of his work in Congress and what ho

Mr. Morgan never missed a roll call
during Ids presence at two sessions of
