Miss Bessie Sims Resigns
Miss Bessie Sims who has spent the
past year and some months in Beaver
serving in the capacity of clork of the'
county court resigned her position
laAt week and departed Sunday for her
home on the Kiowa near Lock wood.
During her 6tay in Beaver Miss Bessie
has made many warm friends and her
departure is deeply regret. She
was a general favorlto among Beaver's
young people and to say that she will
be missed is putting it very mildly in-
deed. We trust that her absence from
Boaver will only be tomporary and
that tho may decide to return to us.
shortly Our Booial gatherings in ftt-
turo will never ue juut complete with
tho smiling happy face of Miss Bessie
missing. We 11 ever keep a "littlo
cozy corner in our heart for Bessie"
and await anxiously her return at wo
trust a very early date.
Miss Bertha Turner Appointed
Clerk County Court
Miss Bortha Turner who has been
employed in the Boaver County Ab-
stract ofllce for some time past was
last week appointed clork of the county
court by Judgo R. E Dickson upon
tho resignation of Miss Bes3io Sims
former clerk of that court.
During her residence of over five
years in Beaver Miss Turner has been
employed continuously in clerical work
of different kinds and it thoroughly
qualified (or the position to which she
has just been appointed. Si has held
positions of trust and responsibility
both with the State Bank of Beaver
and the Abstraot ofllce and wo have
yet to hear the first complaint of her
inability to perform the most difllcult
work along these lines. In her uew
position she will "mako good" in no
less degree than in hor former work
and will always be found at her post of
duty willing and anxious to servo those
who have business with her.
Buys a Farm
A deal was oousumated the latter
part of last week whereby H D. Peck-
hain purchased the Jim Morrison farm
on the Missouri Flats. This land is
said to be some of the very choicest in
that section.

Aliss Sims' Resignation
Inasmuch an there has been Home Ir-
regularities in the county judgo'c ofllce
in consequence of which J. W. Culwell
was suspended from office pending his
trial which will be held at the next
term of the district court and thus the
resignation of Miss Bessie Sims clerk
of said courtrmight be wrongfully con-
strued by those not acquainted with
the facts Inthe case in justice to Miss
BeBSie xvewsnt to say that her resig-
nation vna entirely voluntary on her
part. The. fact or the matter Is that
Mies Bessie's work was so good and she
was so thoroughly acquainted with
every department of the office that
Judge; Dickson gave her up reluctantly
It way his desire to keep her as long
as ehq; wished to remain but the had
othec'plan3 for the future and hence
decided to make the change.
During the time that Miss Bessie has
been in the couety ludgo's office ac
ulerk her work has been most efficient
and so pleasantly and agreeably did
she meet tho many comers at that of-
fice that hor absence will be moat sin-
cerely regretted by all. Regardless of
the many vexations that always con-
front the servant of the public Miss
Bessie 'kept sweet" through it all
and no duty was too ardrous for her to
poiform. No matter what comoR or
goes or however agreeablo her successor
may bo the many accommodations re-
ceived at the hands of Miss Bessie will
over be remembered by thoso who had
business at her office and she will en-
joy the respect and lovo of all who
know her.
