A Pretty Honic Wedding.
On May 15th 1009 at tho home of
Mr. and Mrs. B F. McPhorson In tho
northeast part of Beaver County Okla.
occurred a quiet but protty little home
wedding at 2 o'clock P. M.
Roy O. Coppock and Maude II . Mc-
Phcrtton were united in the holy bond
of matrimony. Rev. U. Stanley Presi-
dent of Friends' University at Wichita
Ivausas olliciating. Miss Nellie the
bride's young sister played tho wed-
ding march ivhilo tho bridal party
marched under tho arch of rosos pro-
pared for tho cuiiMimatiou of the union
of tho two young hearts.
The ceremony was beautiful and Im-
pressive. The bride was tastofully but
simply attired in a gown of white tis-
sue ami lace fashioned in the princess
Style nnd with the brido's boquot of
white roses lilies and fern togothpr
with the bridal wreath ol orange blos-
soms and bridal veil reaching to the
lloor mado a fitting emblem of purttj
depicted qn the sweet countenance ol
the young brido. - '
Tho groom was faultlessly attired in
tho eonvential black with wlulo vent
and cravat.
A more lovely couple would indeed
be hard to find. Jlisi Marvin Cop-
pock slater of the groom was tho love-
ly bridesmaid and carried a bunch of
white lillies.
Mr. Carl Newby a highly respected
young man was the groom's best man.
The decorations nero reil and white
rosea and carnations Af tor congratu-
lations all repaired ti the dining
room. The table wan beautifully
decorated with roses and generously
spread with turkey and all the comple-
ments. The groom's parents brother and
two sisters of Cherokee Oklahoma
were present at the wedding.
The young people aro favorablj
known in their community the groom
being one of our most prosperous
young farmers n noble young man
witli highest ideals greatly interested
in church and educational work and
tho betterment of humanity Tho.
bride is one of our best musicians a
Christian young lady of marked abil-
ity. Sho graduated from Laurence
Academy tho eve boluro her marriage
after taking the academic work in less
time than three years
The young people received many

presented by the brido's parents.
The tlay was one of those calm
peaceful days when all nature scorns
to vie with each other in making a

to these young puoponnd indeed Mr
and Mrs. Roy Coppock havo a host of
friends who wish them a happy peace-
ful joyous life.

The editor of this paper has always
felt that the industrious farmer h'ad
nothing particular to fear from'-RiiB-Bian
thistles and still believes' tnat
way. Last fall we had 75 acreH of
wheat planted on a farm that the sum-
mer before was nothing but a bed 'nt
tlilstlea. Tho wheat ndvor stood tjie
long dry winter for it was planted late
and died tills spring before tho rains
lilt it We did get one of the most
beautiful crops of thistles however
that you ever saw. Wo didn't cuss tho
thistles for coming up in fact are glad
they came but havo hired J. W. West
to disc the land twice and now all that
remains of that crop on that laud can
be stuck in your eye. Wo are going to
havo Mr West list this land and plant

money hold out and we have it figured
out that both wi! We will tell our
readers about our experience nith
Russian thistles in Texas county and
are Just confident enough in tho plan
we have mapped out for the cultiva-
tion of that field to right liony statu
that we expect to have little 'trouble
from the thistles. We may bo fooled
in it but if we are wo promise our
readers to tell about it for on tho
