The tempqranco play "Tho Last
Loaf" which was put on at tho Hall
Friday night of last week under tho
auspices of Class No. 2 of the Chris-
tian Sunday School and for tho bene-
fit of the church building fund was
largely attended and was ono of tho
most pleasant occasions that has taken
place in Beavor for many days.
The play in itself was excellent and
when produced by such an ablo com-
pany of young people as on this occa-
sion it could not havo been better
every part was rendrd to erfefction
and tlioro was not a feature of tho en-
tire evening that could bo justly criti
cised. The manner in which those who
had part in the play delivered their
parts relleeted a great deal of credit
upon themselves and showed that they
had given it their undivided attention
and careful study as well as djligcnt
practice.
Of all tho large crowd that attended
the entertainment not ono (has been
heard to comment other than favor
ably upon tho merits of tho play and
those who rendered it sVsucoessfully.
The-yoong people expect to go to La

The Late Snow and Rain Practically
Assures Wheat Crop in Beaver County
Thursday of last week dawned with
a full-Hedged snow-storm which con
tinued tho greater part of the day
now and then turning to rain and then
again coming down is largo Hakes to
thick and fust that one began to think
thoy had suddenly been transported
from tho land of sunshine to somo
northern region not far-distant from
the North Polo.
The snow was not accompu tiled by a
cold wave how over and thus no dam-
ago was dono to growing crops and
the moisture which it brought was a
great benotit to tho ground. This
moisture came at a very upportuno time
too and will prove of untold value to
the farmers. Wheat was beginning to
show tho need of moisture and this
mow and rain will give it a new lease
on life. 'Tho wheal crop is now prac-
tically assured.

If there is fluttering or palpi-
