Wright Is' the Man.
Tho representative muddle is still
muddled but tho common people can if
they will elcot a man who will represent
the peoplo and who was not nominated
by any ring or combine. Fred Taintor
who was lawfully nominated by the re-
publican representative convention at
Beaver is not on 'the ticket and tho re-
publicans of this district will not get a
chance to voto for him. Instead the
name of John M Pugh appears on tho
ticket as the regular republican nominee
although ho received but six votes out
of thirteen in the convention. But the
Woodward politicians by their jugglery
got Pugh on and kept Taintor off;
Woodward is closer to Guthrio than
Beaver. ' Tho rotten manner by which
tho Woodward gang got their man
through is known to all Pugh himself
does not and cannot approve their action;
be recognizes the fact that he has no
right to go bofore tho people u the res
publican nominee. He is not tho re-
publican nominee though his natoo ap-
pears on the ticket and should not bo
so considered.
Tho democratic convention at Wood-
ward was as rotten as tho republican
convention here. Woodward had said
that Beaver county should namo the
candidate an by right she was entitled
to but when it camo to a show-down
Woodward stayed by their man Patton
to tho lata and after tho convention had
adjourned and the Beaver delegates had
gone home the Woodward men nomi-
nated John George contrary to the
rules adopted shich required a major
ity to nominate. Beaver county demo-
crnts and a majority of thosn in our sin
ter county d& not consider that Geoige
is the nomiaeo of their patty though
his name appears on tho ticket.
But the peoplo can placo their mark
of disapproval upon the corrupt action
of these political plungers if they will do
it Chas. Wright our present county
attorney was placed on tho ticket as the
Electors' cannidato by a petition circu
l.ted among both parties. Ho is a dem-
ocrat but is making the raoc indepen-
dent and under the circumstances he
should rcccivo the support of tho Beaver
oo. republicans to a man. We have no
candidate Wright is a good and com-
petent man and all who believo in that
grand principle upon which our govern
tnent is founded should support him.
Thero'a no ubq in dividing our vote for
if wo do Pugh will be elected and tho
ring at Woodward will have won.
Wright can represent 'bq peoplo of tho
two counties as well a any man in them
and will do it. lfynji regard your own
interest voto for Wrihj and show the
fixers that the peoplo have a voice.
This paper has nothing personal
against John M. Pugh. We aro not
acquainted with him and ho may ho a
good man. But we believe that tho ma
jut ity should rule and thut the people
are free and wo propose lo do what wo
cau in our weak way toward ahuwing
up the rotten work of the Woodward
politicians and we don't propooc by our
voto or otbsrwiso to sanction such act-
ions. Pugh hiotself was probubly miss
informed as to the way in which he was
nominated. We have presented the cato
in its true liht' and you can draw yuur
own conclusions. If you approve uf
corruption in politic vote fur Pugh or
George. If you prefer firuei and
thiuk the common people bliould have a
word to say vote for Wright
