Photograph taken for a newspaper owned by the Oklahoma Publishing Company. Caption: "Surviving damage to his son's car and his own auto (on the other side) is Doyle Coffman, 604 SE 14. An Oklahoma City grocery store operator was injured Tuesday when his car collided with another auto at SE 14 and Durland, then jumped the curb ans smashed into two parked cars. William Lee Cornelius, 57, of 209 Burk drive, was taken to Wesley hospital suffering shock and a hand injury. His 1955 model auto collided with car driven by Hubert Ollie Denker, 21, of 634 SE 14, employee of the city water department. Officers J.C. Orf and D.W. Hoyle said Cornelius' car was knocked 15 feet sideways, and then he either stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake or the accelerator pedal stuck. Cornelius' car jumped the curb, crossed a yard and struck a parked car broadside, shoving it six feet into the side of another parked auto in font of a barber shop at 604 SE 14. The parked cars were owned by Doyle Coffman, ans his son. Alfred Coffman, both of 604 SE 14. Officers issued Denker a citation charging negligent driving."
