According to previous- an-
nouncements the professional
base ball game was played
last Tuesday on the ball
ground, resulting in the de-
feat of the leans, at a score of
21 to 29.
The game w$.s very comical
from beginning to ending,
however the leans are not sat-
isfied'and are willing to play
the game over at some future
time*
M. 13. Carley, who was play-
ing wjtli the leans received a
very painful lick on the uose
by running into Mr Shriver, a
fly ball was knocked when
Shriver and Carley both made
a run foW the ball being Mr
Shrivers lJall, coming together
like two steam engines, mash-
ing Carleys nose as flat as a
pan cake. Dr. Crouch was on
the ground and immediately
dressed the wounds and—'"Its
alright now".

Some time during the first
part of last week a crowd of
Noble young people became
so pic-nic and fish hungry
they decided to .t^ike Friday
off" and ease their longing.
The girls spent most of
Thursday in cooking:
Friday' all were up ' bright
and early" but—the "just as
I expected" had happened,
there was a dark stormy cloud
and the Mothers and Fathers
thought "it would be very
foolish to start on a pic-nic j
such an unlikely morning".
Hut fate stepped in aud clear- j
ed the sky and at eight o'clock j
there were two carriages and j
one bugy being loaded with 1
good things to e^it and drink?
However there is proof posi-j
tive that soda pop was the

The party consisted of Miss-

Kate W ise, Leona Casey and
Yenette Neff.
Messers Everett Medaris,
Dudly Murphy, John Medarsi
Carter Luttrell, and Ed Hros-
ius.
Chaperoned by Mrs* Lewis
Hrosius.
They arrived at Denver at
eleven oclock A. M. The
drive had been so invigorat-
ing and appetising that the
boys had secret doubts as to
whether the girls liu;! prepar-
ed enough eatables to appease
them or not. so they purchas-
ed another supply of canned
goods eggs and crackers.
The Falls were reached and
aljout twelve and none too
soon for dinner. One table
was spread to hold tke confec-
ionory which consisted of or-
anges. lemons, bananas, roast-
ed beanuts, candy and chew-
ing gum. The soda pop was
immediately put on ice and
the lemons were being cut to
make lemon ade when it was
disdovered there was not a
grain of sugar in the camp.
It was learned that the boys
thought the girls would make
the lemon ade and no other
sweetening would be needed
and vice versa. Perhaps .it
wasn't ? ? ?
The afternoon was spent in
fishing, shooting, walking
foot logs and roasting eggs.
Some very expert shooting
was done by the girls.
The homeward journey was
begun at P. M. Reaching
White Mound at sun down.
the boys made a fire they
did not want their game to
go to waste.
Several new dishes were in-
troduced. any one wishing
the receipt for "scrambled

supplied by applying to any

The drive home was divine.
