Coterie ltereption.
The Ladies of the Coterie held
their third annual receptions for
their husbands Tuesday evening at
the home of Mrs. D. R. Boyd presi-
dent of the club. Although the
evening was very dissagreeable it
having rained the greater part of the
day and evening the members all
were present except Mrs. Heddens,
and the absent husbands were Mr.
Heddins, Prof. Ware, Dr. Hamilton,
Mr. Helvie and Mr. Bixler.
Two charming maids Miss Alice
Boyd and May Heddins received
the guests at the door.
The first thing on the program
was the serving of delicious refresh-
ments. Small tables were placed
in the parlors, and the gueats were
seated four at each table. The la-
dies were given cards bearing the
name of an author and the cards
given to the gentlemen gave the
name of some book or poem written
by the authors named. As the gen-
tlemen were the guests the ladies
sought their partners for luncheon.
Misses Floy Ware, Lydia Ad urns,
Blanch Morgan and Alice Boyd
served the refreshments consisting
of sandwiches, olives, dill pickels,
t'hiclten ealade. sarato^:, potatoes,
cake and ice -1111 1 1 ...,i ..

an object lesson that would avoid
the necessity of telling everyone he
met how the best looking men in
