Thanksgiving Service.
Statehood Convention.
The Thanksgiving Union Ser-
vice hold at the Christian church
was well attended. Elder Powero
delivered the address; the other
local ministers assisted in the
service. The address opened with
"Things 1 am not tlmnkful for,
setting fourth the sins, crimes,
trusts, monopolies and saloons of
the nation. Then the picture
turned showing, "The / things I
am thankful for," health, prosper-
ity, friends, and chiistianity; and
wlia.t it is doing for the world.
The church was 1 eautifully dec-
orated with mistletoe; for Buch
we tlmnk Henry Fuller and Mrs
Tracy and her assistants. The
children's entertaiument at night
drew a large crowd. All the little
onea acquitted themselves well.
Music was furnished by the
choir. The main feature of the
• programme was "2 Itauksgiving
as spelled by twelve children and

being taken from the bible. The
recitations and songs by the chil-
dren showed careful training due
to the e(forts of the committee,
Misses Freeman, Scott, and A1 -
ford and tho earnest support of
the superintendent N. F.Oldham.
