Mr. Parkinson met many of our

made many friends and many votes.
He is a "go-getter" when it comes

NORMAN'S OPPORTUNITY.
The voters of The University City
will have their first opportunity on
election day, November 7th, to take
a forward step in securing one of its
greatest needs, NATURAL (IAS, by
voting for the issuance of a franchise
to the Norman Gas and Power Com-
pany. and the vote will indicate who
are in favor, not only of the granting
of the franchise, but will accurately
gauge the sentiment of the city as
to the forward move for a GREATER
NORMAN. The Transcript thinks this
opportunity to make Norman a
better city, and figures that in the
granting of the franchise Norman has
nothing to lose and everything to
gain. The expense has been paid and
the grant can not under our state con-
stitution, be an exclusive one, hence
it will result in Norman getting a
supply of gas at the earliest date.
These Norman citizens are asking
nothing from the city save the privi-
lege of the franchise and any number
of citizens have a like opportunity at
any time, and the Transcript favors
this company as it will favor all other
companies of like organization and
management who are for upbuilding
Norman and are worthy citizens.
Property values are bound to in-
crease and the advantages of Nor-
man multiplied many times. Home
life, the student life, business and la-
bor will each show a betterment. It
is indeed Norman's best OPPORTUN-
ITY—and this is bound to be an op-
portunity that will be grasped for we
need GAS. we want GAS and we will
have GAS—if each citizen does his
part.

HUGHES A SURE WINNER.
The Oklahoman of today contains
the following cheering news to
Republicans:
A telegram received yesterday at
Republican state headquarters from
J. J. McGraw, natioifal committee-
man, who has been in Chicago a
couple of days in conference with j
western leaders and campaign man- '
agers says the Republican outlook in |
the west and middle west could not |
be more favorable.
Arthur Geissler, chairman of the j
Republican state committee, Friday ;
night received the following message I
from William R. Wilcox, chairman of I
the Republican national committee: j
"The election of Charles E. Hughes
to the presidency of the United States
is absolutely assured. The splendi<f
work of his supporter?, together with
the cause in which we are all fight-
ing, will be triumphantly successful.
The electoral vote of Oklahoma
should be included in the splendid
roll of states which will be recorded
in his favor. Mv congratulations on
the vigorous fight made by the Re-
publicans m Oklahoma.

Thousands Behind
Three to fifty per hour on high—that's
the speed report we get from owners
all over the country.
And 20 to 25 miles per gallon of gas is
the economy report.,
A corking good car—
A price that makes it the greatest value
on the face of the earth—
That combination has kept the factory
thousands of cars behind sales for
weeks and weeks.
But we're getting them in right along.
Better see us about yours today.
