AFTER MANY DAYS—OUR NATIONAL FLAG
After many days of watchful waiting, and waiting and watching, our
National flag is flung to the breeze on the west wall of the Transcript office,
telling to the world as well as words could tell that the people living in the
"University City" are loyal to their country. This flag of beauty will b
illuminated by night, and will be as fixed in your mind as the Star of Bethle-
hem that hung over the spot where our Savior was born. And may this flag
guide us back to our home town when we go away. That flag, our flag, the
red, white and blue, may she forever wave over our heads down at the Citizens
Park, is the wish of the ex-Civic Committee.

"NORMAN'S GREATEST STORE"
IT WAS AN ELOPEMENT
It seems the marriage of Mr. Clyde
McFeeley and Miss Fern Humphrey,
performed here yesterday, was an
elopement. They tried to get a license
in Oklahoma City, but were refused
on the grounds that the bride-to-be
was but 15 years old, according to her
father, J. W. Humphreys, a black-
smith. But love laughts at lock-
smiths and blacksmiths and they came
to Norman, and were duly «nd regu-
larly married. The girls gave her age
as 18—and looked it.

"CHRISTMAS" COMING
A certain kind of Christmas (not
the best kind, by any means), is ar-
riving at the express office in this city
by the gallon and the half-gallon and
the quart. Something like fifty pack-
ages is an average number to be un-
loaded from the express car of each
train. This morning's southbound
train brought in fifty or more, and
many of the recipients were waiting
for their liquid refreshments. The
prospects for a "wet" Christmas are
good.

to visit relatives at Alex, Okla.
—Mr. and Mrs. Callie Cobble and
chijdren are here from Pauls Valley
visiting Mrs. Cobhlo's parents, Mr.
and Mrs A. E. Duncan.
