The Board of County Commissioners
met at the office of the county clerk
in Enid. O. T., on this, the
9th, day of May, 1902, at 10
o'clock a. m. for the purpose of
hearing the remonstrance of LaPav-
ette Non is and others to the issuance
of license to Charles W. Brandhorst
to sell intoxicating liquors in the vil-
lage of Lahoma, Logan township,
Garfield county, Oklahoma Terri-
tory.
Members present, H. C. Jayne,
chairman. Oscar E. Ford and J. H.
Iliggs.
The following proceedings were
had and done:
The cause coming on to be heard at
thistime, the applicant being re-
presented by attorneys James and
Wilson and the remonstrants by at-
torney W. S. Wbittinghill.
The hour of twelve o'clo:k noon
having arrived the Board takes a re-
cess until one o'clock p. m.

The Board met at one o'clock p. m.

present, H. C. Jayne chairman, Os-
car E. Ford and J. H. Biggs the fol-
lowing were had and done:

and pending such a hearing, and the
hour of seven o'clock p. m. having ar-
rived the board now takes a recess
until nine o'clock a. m. tomorrow.

The Board of the Commissioners
met at one o'clock p. m. pursuant to
recess taken. Members all present.
The following proceedings were had
and done.
The hearing in the matter of the
remonstance of LaFayette Norris
and others to the issuance of license
toCharles VV. Brandhorst to sell liqu-
ors in the town of Lahoma is here-
by continued until 9 o'clock a. m. on
Monday. May 19th, 1902.
In the matter of the incorporation
of the town of Lahoma, Garfield
county, Oklahoma Territory; now on
this the 10th, day of May, 1902, this
cause being regularly reached and
coming to be heard, the board upon
examination of the returns of the
election held in the said town of La-
homa, on the 22nd, day of April 1902,
finds that all the laws with reference
to the incorporations oi cities, towns
and villages have been complied
with; that at the election hereto-
fore ordered by the board for the
purpose of ascertaining whether the
qualified electors of the proposed in-
corporated town of Lahoma desire
such incorporation, there was cast
sixty-eight (68) votes of which num-
ber thirty-five (35) votes were for in-
corporation "yes" and thirty-three
(33) votes were for incorporation "no"
that this Board is in all particulars
satisfied with the legality of euch
election.
It is therefore ordered by the
Board that the territory herein
proposed for incorporation under the
name of the town of Lahoma, be and
the same is hereby declared to be an
incorporated town and known as the
town of Lahoma with all the privil-
eges, powers duties, rights and obli-
gation upon it conferred.
In the matter of the double an
erroneous personal property assess-
ment of J, L. Keger, Jonesville
addition to the city of Enid for 19C1;
it is hereby ordered thac a certifi-
cate of error in the sum of $39.30 is-
sue to said J. L. Keger.
In the matter of the erroneous as-
sessment of lot 4, block 3, town of
Cropper O. T,. 190.) tax and the tax
sale of said lot for sail l&OO tax; it is
hereby ordered that a certificate of
error in the sum of $11.22 issue to A.
H. Mace, ownerof said lot and that
said tax sale, No. 785 be cancelled.
In the matter of the appli-
cation of J. E. McClanahan for
the registration of his stock brand a
lazy "J" thus (~=). It appearing to
the boar- that said brand does con-
flict with any other brand heretofore
recorded in Garfield Co. it is hereby
ordered that the county clerk record
said braud forthwith and the right
of ownership of the said J, E, Mc-
Clanahan to said brand shall date
from the date of regsitration, April
25th, 1902.
The resignation of I. F. Whetsell,
constable in and for Allison twp.,
is hereby accepted.
The resignation of L. W. Easter-
ly justice of the peace in, and for
Noble township is hereby accepted.
The resignation of Wclb J. Willey,
township treasure, Kremlin township
is hereby accepted, and JamesSchuy-
ler is appointed to fill vacancy caused
by said resignation.
The resignation of H. G. McKeever
justice of the peace in and for Enid
City township is hereby accepted and
Vernon W. Whiting Is hereby ap-
pointed to fill vacancy caused by said
resignation. The resignation of said
H. G. McKeever to date from May
12, 1902.
The official bond of James Schuy-
ler, township treasure Kremlin town-
ship is hereby approved and ordered
filed.
Under Section 8. Chapter 27, Ses
sion laws of Oklahoma 1901, the Beard
of County Commissioners finding that
one half the money derived from
licenses issued for the sale of intoxi-
cating liquors, will .lot be used for
the construction and maintanence
of roads and bridges for fiscal ye.'ir
ending June 30t.h, 1902. It is here
by ordered that the sum of five-hun
dred (500) dollars be transferred from
the road and bridge fund to the con-
tingent fund.
The hour of six oV.lock p. m. hav-

recess until !l o'clock a. tn. on Mon-
