the right of injunction as a form of
Slavery.
This effort by Mr. Allen brought out a
statement from him that he would seek I
to get up the regular bill providing for
contempt of court Immediately after tha
disposal of the resolution for the elec-
tion of senators by the people.
Mr.Mitcheil said in turn that he would
make an effort to secure consideration

conference opened today with Bishop
^ Incent In the chair. Devotional ser-
vices wore conducted by Rev. It. F.
Glllls, a colored minister of central Mis-
souri.
The fir?t resolution Introduced de-
nounced the Armenian outrages and
palled 011 congress to authorise the pres-
ident to negotiate with European gov-
ernments to interfere In the matter.
The resolution was referred to the pro-
per committee.
The delay in the proceedings of the
conformce on account of the failure of
the committees to make their report*,
Is aibout at an end. With the election
of bishops and conference officers.which
begins tomorrow morning, the confer-
ence will gpt down to real solid work
und the sessions from now on are likely
to be full of interest. Following the
election will come the settlement of the
t.me limit question end there will proti-
atoly be a spirited contest over that.
The most Important business at to-
day's session was the adoption of a
