The work is in charge of W. A. Pep-
per, vice-president of the company
who states that the outfit: will be ready
to begin making shingles sometime
next week.
The shingles made are about 12x20
inches in size and are intended to take
the place of cbmmon shingles. The
company has a patent on the shingles
and is making them in large quanti-
ties in Alabama and other states
where their use is becoming general.
While they are comparatively new to
Oklahoma, there is a good demand for
them here and the factory will be kept
busy to its full capacity. From seven
to ten men will be employed as soon as
things are running smoothly and the
nutraer will be increased in a short
time to two or three 'imes that number
It is the stated intention of the com-
pany to begin the erection of a large
building of its own during the comi g
summer.
J. B. Ellison, secretary of the com-
pany was here the first of the week
from Oklahoma City where he lives
and where the company has offices.
He will probably move here sometime
this spring and the whole business of
the institution will be carried on from
this point.
The new firm is a very welcome ad-
dition to Davenport and they will find
the town ready to prove its appreciat-
ion by rendering them every possible

After the cermony a sumptuous supper

bride. Mr. and Mrs. Watts then left
for the 102 Ranch east of town where
they will make their home.

deservedly popular in the community.
The people here among whom she has
grown to womanhood, respect and es-
teem her very highly for her many
virtues and lovable qualities.
The groom has a wide circle of ac
quaintances, by whom he is generally
liked and respected. He i i one of the
leading business men of Davenport be-
ing interested in both banks, the cot-
ton husines - and other enterprises.
That he will take good care of his new
priceless posession, no one doubts.
That the couple may meet with noth-

matrimony may prove stronger than

At a mass meeting of Davenport
citizens last Friday evening the follow-
