All honor and credit- is due the
promoters of the Hennessey Fair
for their energy, pluck and enter-
prise. To most of people it looked
like a great leap in the dark to at-
tempt such a thing in a country so
new and in times bo hard, but with
that laudible ambition which so pre
eminently characterize our citizens
and our farmers, ami especially the
stock-holders of the fair whose vo-
cabulary hollis not the term failure,
the fair has been a crowning success,
and paves the way for greater strides
in other years. The general man
ager James A. Liddle, who toon
upon himself tbe responsibility of
designing and shaping the work and
staking his own responsibility for
material with which to complete it,
is entitled lo the highest consider-
ation from the citizens of Hennessey
for his infatigucable energy in tbe
work from the beginning to the end.
