The people around Hico wel-
comed a nice shower on Friday
and crops are now looking better.
Walter Butler shaved and
shampooed quite extensively on
Saturday, the occasion being the
absence of Mrs. Butler visiting
with home folks.
Will Wynne is being kept quite
busy in his store these days.
A number of the farmers of this
locality shipped cattle from New-
alla one day the past week.
Mrs. W. H. France and son
Thomas started for Norman on
Friday but had to return on ac-
count of the rain.
Mike Darby was a visitor to
the Hico store on Saturday to
get a shave and shampoo.
Miss Mabel Orr is visiting with
her sister, Mrs. Ben Burgess.
Miss Maggie Church was a visi-
tor at the W. H. White home on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Talbot and
daughter, Miss Neva, were guests
a' the L. H. Moses home onSat-
urday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Griffin were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. J.
Jones, Saturday.
There was no meeting at South
Gale on account of the rain.
Miss Ida Church and her broth-

Messrs. Frank Hartsock, Ben

Monday and brought back lumber,
etc., for repairs on the South
Gale school house. The house is
to be painted inside and out and
a new joof put on, and in every
way be made a credit to the dis-
trict.
As Fred Church has gone away
to harvest, Walter Church has
taken his place at the Burgess
home.
Miss Clarice Hartsock spent
Saturday night and Sunday with
Miss Mable Burgess and Mis's
Ella Moses was a guest of Miss
Neva Talbot on Saturday night.

A resolution providing for the
grading, paving, curbing, and
draining and otherwise improving
of Jenkins avenue, from the south
line of Duffy Street, to the north
line of Boyd Street.
Whereas, on the 10th day of
June, 1919, a reolution was adopted
by the Councilmen of the City of
Norman, Okla., and approved by
the Mayor, declaring and deeming I County Enterprise, a weekly news

shall be done under a separate
contract with the City, which con-
tract shall be let in the manner and
upon the terms hereinafter stated.
That the costs of such improve-
ment shall be borne by the prop-
erty owners and shall be assessed
against the property abutting on
said part of said street, in the
manner required by law.
3rd. That the City Engineer be

no event exceed the estimate costs
submitted by the City Engineer

That each bid on the improve-
ments herein ordered unde.* single
contract shall be accompanied by
certified check on some bank

for five per cent of his bid, such

bidder will, if his bid be accepted,
execute and deliver satisfactory
bonds with good and sufficient
surety, and will execute and de-
liver contract in accordance with
his bid. Said notice shall also state
that such contractor shall receive
his contract price as the statutes
of Oklahoma provides and fur-
ther that one bond resolution, and
one resolution only, will be passed
authorizing issuance of one ser-
ies of bonds evidencing the as-
sessment as may be made against
the property as provided by law,
and shall further state that the
contractor may be paid in both
ca'sh and bonds, or in bonds sole-
ly, at the option of the City, which
bonds shall be given by the City
and received by the contractor at
their par value.
Said notice shall also state the
time when and the place where
the bids will be opened and con-
sidered by the Mayor and Coun-
cilmen and shall state that the
Mayor and Councilmen Reserve
the right to reject any and all
bids.
Said notice shall further state
that the contractor shall furnish a
maintenance bond as shall be pro-
vided in the contract, equal in
amount to ten per cent of the con-
tiact price of said improvements
and each part thereof, for a peri-
od of not less than five years
from the date as provided.
The person to whom said con-
tract is let shall in all things be
governed and bound by the pro-
visions of this resolution and the
said plans, plats, profiles, specifi-
cations and contract, and further
that such bids shall be within the
estimates furnished by the City
Engineer; and further that the
contractor shall execute and deliv-
er to the City of Norman a bond
with good and sufficient surety
in the sum of twenty-five pec cent
of said bid, to be approved by the
Mayor and Councilmen of said
city, said bond to be conditioned
for the full and faithful perform-
ance of the contract and execution
Of the work, and for the protec-
tion of the City and all property
owners interested against any loss
or damage by reason of any neg-
ligence or improper execution of
the work by such contractor, his
agents or employees; and further,
that the contractor shall execute ,
a bond with good and sufficient I
surety, running to the State of j
