"KEEPING EVERLASTINGLY AT IT IS BOUND TO BRING SUCCESS.

NO. 18
The New Railroad
Considerable interest has been
aroused lately ove~ a prop >std
railroad running from Oklahoma
City into the nonhwesteru part of
the state. Several towns on the
proposed route have already
pledged liberal amounts to be
turned over to the construction
company as soon as the final con
tra6l is made. At a committee
meeting at Oklahoma City last
1 Thursday about $190,000 was sub-
\scriibed.
V&Voobward, Seiling and Mutual
$ 100,000
fairview $35 000
Kingfisher 25,000
Keil 10,000
Jkeene 25'°°°
This road would be of interest
to the people of Cashion. We are
so located that a railroad could
pass thru here from Oklahoma
City to Kingfisher without going
out of the way in the least, and if
the people of this town will get
busy and pledge their support to
this new project it is possible we
may land it. Our present rail
road sevice is similar to the old
stage and wagon freighting with
which old Downs was served prior
to the birth of Cashion This
new road proposition would be a
fit subject for the Farmers and
Business Men's Association of
cashion to take up and wc should
get togeather and see how much
money can be raised for this road
if it will come thru here, and then
make it known to the builders,
and there is no doubt but that
cashion may be able to this new
line, One thing is almost certain
if we let this road go thru to the
south of us, that it will either
pass thru Lockridge or Piedmont,
und should it go thru either place
the future prospects for us to
ever get another road will be
gone for the next several years.

Remember that Monday night
Sept. nth is meeting night for
the Farmers' and Business Men's
Association. Try and be present
at this meeting and lets get dowfl
to business for the coming fall
and winter. There are lots of
lots of things we need around
here that we can get if we just

New Town Cop
You'd Better Be Good
G. M. Bryan is now on duty
looking out for brakers of the
town ordinances. He was ap
pointed last Friday morning as
town marshal and is wearing the
big star pinned to suspender, just
above the bucKle, and in plain
sight. Uncle Gabe has his eye
especially peeled for speeders,
and of course will accidently pick-
up drunks and" crap shooters"
should any chance to be in town
If you are inclined to be a " leetle''
bad, or "fast" you had better take
to the tall timber before you be
gin your exhibition.
