pletion of their work they were obliged
to burn all their clothes that they had
worn and buy new ones.
The county is fortunate in not having
to contend with more eases. The guards

Tho city council met in regular session

Mayor Holland, with all members pres-
ent except Mover and Monroe. The
minutes of the previous meeting were t?

judge was received and referred to the

Tho Street and Alloy committe re
port' *1, recommending the acceptance of
tho work of Richard Nevins >o far as
dune, in preparing grades for the water
works and electric light company. The
contract with Mr. Nevins is for $101.50,
£100 of which was allowed on account
and the balance to be paid whsn the
work is finally completod.

Mr. Petite, as one of the committee
appointed to compromise with properly
